Consumption remains affected
Between January and April 2019, shoe manufacturing decreased by 11.4% compared to the same quarter last year. Thus, in that interim of 2018, 35 million pairs were produced, compared to 31 million in the first four months of this year, according to figures revealed by IES Consultores.
On the other hand, the apparent consumption also showed a fall of 17.2%, which translates into 38.9 million pairs, reported from the Financial Field.
