Imports of Brazilian footwear showed setbacks in all variables. In the first half of 2019, Argentina bought 3.4 million pairs worth US $ 44.4 million, which translated into a retraction of 37.2% and 41.8% respectively, in relation to the same months last year. In turn, the average value per pair was US $ 12.82, a 7.3% drop.
On the other hand, sales of Argentine footwear to Brazil grew by 29.1% in volume (17,644 pairs) and 655.5% in value (US $ 442,297). The average value was positioned at US $ 25.07 per pair, an increase of 485.4%, reported from the Brazilian Association of Footwear Industries (ABICALÇADOS) based on data from the Ministry of Foreign Trade (SECEX) of the Ministry of Economy, Industry, Foreign Trade and Services of Brazil (MDIC).
