These are the AHORA 12 and 18 installment purchasing systems promoted by the government, in 12 and 18 payments with zero interest. As of April, the plans were extended for different sectors, but did not include footwear and leather goods, which will only access AHORA 3 and 6, of 3 and 6 interest-free installments.
The government's measure is valid until July and the 90-day was canceled before starting to settle the purchase. The decision to suspend was due to the increase in prices of these items above expectations.
Fernando De Vito, president of the Footwear Chamber of Buenos Aires -CIC- confirmed the "competitive disadvantage" of not having these options; while Martin Occhione -secretary of CIMA/Leather goods- detailed the importance of financing, since the increase in prices is due to the use of labor-intensive.
