The import of Brazilian footwear did not perform well in the first half of 2024, according to data from the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (ABICALÇADOS in Portuguese).
The exported volume reached 4.6 million pairs, with a value of US$ 92.3 million. These figures represent a decline of 41.1% in quantity and 27.8% in value compared to the same months in 2023. However, there was a 22.6% increase in the average value per pair, reaching US$ 19.99, according to SECEX.
Meanwhile, hides and skins imports from Brazil totaled 202,866 square meters, valued at US$ 2.9 million, according to what was prepared and published by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB). Comparatively, there was a decrease of 52.3% in volume and 51.1% in value, according to SECEX.
