Footwear exports retracted
Between January and April 2019, footwear sales abroad showed a retraction in both volume and value, which were -13.2% and -21% respectively and in relation to the same months last year, according to data from HEI Consultants.
Exports of leather footwear prevailed which, referring to the value, were 55.7% of the total. The rubber or plastic shoe represented 20.1% and the footwear of textile material, 15.2%.
Argentina sold footwear mainly in Chile, which accounted for 49% of the total exported value, while Uruguay had a 40.5% share, as reported by Ámbito Financiero.
