Footwear grew in 2022, 2023 uncertain
The Chamber of the Footwear Industry (CIC) of Buenos Aires reported that domestic footwear production reached 130 million pairs in 2022, representing a growth of 22.1% compared to the previous year.
The variation was also positive for apparent consumption, which totaled 169.7 million pairs for the year, an increase of 22.5% compared to 2021, according to figures from AFIP, INDEC, and NOSIS.
Within domestic consumption, 76% corresponds to Argentine production, and the remaining 24% is provided by imported footwear.
