Footwear: Manufacturing IPI on the rise
In the first two months of 2023, the Manufacturing Industrial Production Index (Manufacturing IPI) showed a 12.9% increase in the FOOTWEAR AND ITS PARTS sector compared to the same months in 2022.
On the other hand, TANNING AND LEATHER GOODS, EXCEPT GARMENTS, experienced a contraction of 0.5%, according to data provided by the Directorate of Mining, Manufacturing, Energy, and Construction Statistics, the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC), and the National Directorate of Economic Statistics.
Furthermore, according to INDEC, the Manufacturing IPI for the FOOTWEAR AND ITS PARTS category grew by 21.1% in 2022 compared to 2021, while TANNING AND LEATHER GOODS, EXCEPT GARMENTS, recorded a 6% increase.
