The elimination of export duties, commonly called "withholdings", is positive news for the sector since it immediately transforms into an improvement in the competitiveness of Argentine footwear that are exported to the world.
In the midst of the international consumption crisis and the global excess supply of footwear, these announcements give relief to exporting companies and potential exporters, improving the export price that until now had to include the concept of “export duty”.
Since 2018, footwear exports had to pay $ 3 for the taxable value of the export.
On the other hand, by maintaining export refunds, shoe exporters will have this stimulus, which currently amounts to 7.5% of exported FOB.
