Imports exceeded exports
In 2022, Argentine footwear exports totaled 432,000 pairs, which resulted in a decrease of 43.9% compared to the previous year.
Leather upper footwear accounted for 59% of the total export volume, followed by textile upper (15%), synthetic upper (14%), and waterproof footwear (9%), as reported by CIC.
On the other hand, imported footwear surpassed 40 million pairs and registered a 22% increase compared to 2021, according to data from NOSIS and AFIP.
The main supplier is Brazil, with a 48% share of the total, while Vietnam represents 20%, Indonesia 17%, and China 13%.
