Industry demands political action

Leaders from the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA) have called on the government to implement measures to support the national sector.

In early September, during the commemoration of Industry Day, President Javier Milei met with Daniel Funes de Rioja, head of the UIA.

On this occasion, Funes de Rioja emphasized the industry's pursuit of a “level playing field” while highlighting the new SME Law, which remains a project.

The desired equity refers to ensuring the competitiveness of the industry is not undermined by the country’s costs, particularly in comparison to markets with policies protecting against unfair competition and modern labor systems, among other initiatives.

“We can only value the efforts to stabilize macroeconomic conditions, as inflation, instability, fiscal deficits, and unpredictability are not a good sign for anyone,” added the president, as reported by the UIA.
