It was announced that export duties will be maintained
In the face of the potential removal of export duties on salted hides, Jorge Solmi -Secretary of Federal Agricultural Coordination- along with other members of the Ministry of Agriculture, met with union leaders and entrepreneurs involved in the leather value chain.
During the meeting, the officials announced that the export duties would not be eliminated, as reported by the Bae Negocios portal in late February. Additionally, the leather sector emphasized the importance of not incentivizing the export of raw materials.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to create a strategic plan through a leather and manufactured goods roundtable, with both parties agreeing on the promotion of value-added products.
