Less bureaucracy for imports
The Sworn Declaration of Product Composition (SDPC) was repealed by resolution No. 49/2024 of the Secretary of Commerce, which applied to various products, including footwear and its supplies.
This measure required importers and manufacturers to detail the materials composing the finished products and their percentage composition. The national government considered this initiative redundant, as the information was available on the label.
In 2023, one million procedures were reached, totaling US$5 million in costs for the affected sectors. This was in addition to the request for companies to carry out tests at the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI), thus increasing expenses, as reported by the National State's website.
