Low production of FOOTWEAR and LEATHER GOODS due to quarantine

Through the Monthly Industrial Survey, the Argentine Confederation of Medium Enterprises (CAME) reported that the production of the SME sectors of FOOTWEAR and LEATHER GOODS had a 29.7% retraction in the month of March, compared to the same period of 2019.

On the other hand, the variation for the aforementioned items was -65.6% in April. Among the causes of the contraction in the SME industry in general, are the fall in exports and consumption, added to the productive inactivity.

In May, the decline in the sectors was 61%, within the framework of a quarantine with fewer restrictions, as reported by CAME.
