Given the possibility of a decrease in import rates that the Mercosur countries have in common, CIMA considered that this industry does not count with a strong production framework, nor with stability to bear it. This measure could translate into a threat to investment and employment, among other factors, according to Ariel Aguilar, president of CIMA. In front of the project promoted by Jair Bolsonaro -President of Brazil- Aguilar affirmed the need to boost the competitiveness of the Argentine leather industry.
