More footwear than leather entered from Brazil
Data provided by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) indicates that Argentina purchased 3.2 million pairs of shoes during the first three months of 2023, for which it spent US$ 55.3 million.
Comparing it with the same period in 2022, the volume recorded a growth of 1.4%, while the value experienced an increase of 52.8%, according to SECEX data.
On the other hand, the import of hides and skins from Brazil reached 198,233 square meters, valued at US$ 3.2 million. This performance represented an 8.9% decrease in volume and a 17.3% increase in value, according to SECEX figures, prepared and released by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB).
