OXÍGENO has closed: a renowned Argentine shoe brand
As a result of the serious crisis reigning in the Argentine footwear industry in recent years, a new factory closure was reiterated. This time it is the emblematic OXÍGENO brand, which achieved great recognition in the market for the quality and designs of the products, of which the heavy duty boots and nautical shoes were the most prominent.
With the origin of a family business and the beginning of activities in a small workshop in Lanús, over time the factory grew and settled permanently in La Tablada, in La Matanza district in Buenos Aires province.Lately, the sharp drop in domestic consumption, with the consequent decline in production and the various economic problems generated in the industry, were some of the causes that precipitated the closing decision.Responsible for the company, confirmed that its commercial area will remain open until the liquidation of the stock, while negotiations are concluded to compensate the total staff.
