In the framework of the presentations of the webinar held between Italy and Argentina for the promotion of Italian technology, the president of the Chamber of the Footwear Industry (CIC) of Buenos Aires -Fernando De Vito- gave some figures referring to the national sector.
He pointed out that production increased by 82.4% in the first four months of the year, compared to the same period in 2020. The positive variation was also reflected in the 9.1% increase in relation to 2019, the pre-pandemic year, according to data provided by INDEC.
On the other hand, exports of Argentine footwear had an increase of 278% in the same period. Sales abroad reached a value of US $ 1.6 million, for 297 thousand pairs.
It is worth clarifying again that the positive indices expressed are comparative to the period of greatest impact of the health crisis.
