The Pymes Retail Sales Index, compiled and published by the Argentine Confederation of Medium Enterprises (CAME), revealed that the FOOTWEAR AND LEATHER GOODS sector experienced a 2.5% decline in January compared to the same month of the previous year.
According to the respondents, there have been significant price increases in the past 12 months, which has had the most negative impact on the industry.
Similarly, in February, there was a 0.8% decrease in retail sales, while in March, the decline was 2.9%. As a result, the sector closed the first quarter of the year with a contraction of 2%.
CAME also reported that, in the cumulative data up to December 2022, both categories showed a 1.6% recovery compared to 2021.
