SMEs: Support for SIRA liberation
In early September, the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, gave the green light for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to receive authorization from the Import System of the Argentine Republic (SIRA).
In this regard, US$ 700 million in import permits would be released, primarily for intermediate goods, followed by accessories and parts, and then consumer goods, as reported by the media.
This move was celebrated by the SME sector. Specifically, the Chamber of the Footwear Industry (CIC) stated that limitations on the importation of spare parts, supplies, capital goods, and raw materials were causing complications in productive activity and employment.
