Special dates boosted retail sales
Retail sales in the footwear and leather goods sector during Mother’s Day were 0.6% lower than in 2023, with an average purchase ticket of $41,347. E-commerce played a more prominent role compared to the previous year.
For Christmas, a 6.7% increase was recorded. The most in-demand products were sandals, flip-flops, slippers, belts, and wallets, with an average ticket of $51,035, according to CAME.
On Three Kings' Day, sales saw a 36.7% year-on-year increase, with an average purchase of $45,338. Interest-free installment plans and more affordable prices played a key role in consumers' purchasing decisions.
