The entry of Brazilian footwear and leather increased
Between January-March 2022, 3.1 million pairs of footwear from Brazil entered the Argentine market, valued at US$ 36.2 million. Compared to the same months of the previous year, an increase of 43.4% in volume and 77.6% in value was recorded.
It was reported by ABICALÇADOS, the association of Brazilian industrialists, according to data from SECEX. The average price was US$ 11.34 per pair, with a growth of 23.9%.
In relation to Brazilian hides and skins, 217,634 square meters were imported in the same period, which meant an increase of 53%; while the value was US$ 2.7 million, 85% more, according to SECEX data prepared and disseminated by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB).
