The meeting with government officials was described as positive among the leaders and businessmen attending. The representative of the Footwear Chamber, Fernando De Vito pointed out that "we are here to look for new tools to be able to get out of the crisis".
"The footwear industry has to fight against the abundant world supply of shoes, to reach a strengthened local market and export opportunities". The leader said that "they will work for greater competitiveness, in the face of a labour-intensive productive branch".
