The Department of Foreign Trade of the Chamber of the Footwear Industry of Buenos Aires (CIC) reported that, in the first quarter of the year, a volume of 4,200 pairs of footwear was sold abroad through the EXPORTA SIMPLE system.
It is a simplified export system, promoted by the government, to facilitate foreign sales operations for small and medium-sized companies, reducing their operating costs. This platform facilitates the logistics to make shipments to any country in the world, without the need to register as an exporter or do any paperwork.
In 2018, 11 thousand pairs of footwear were exported through this system, while in 2019 they amounted to 33 thousand pairs, and in 2020, the figure dropped to 22,100 pairs.
The destinations were the United States, with a 52% share of total sales; followed by Chile, with 15%; Uruguay, with 9%; Colombia and Spain, with 6%.
