Consequences of the pandemic
In the face of the health crisis triggered by COVID-19, 90% of the workshops dedicated to the manufacture of footwear in Cochabamba ceased their activities. This means that 30 production units continue to manufacture, out of a total of around 300 located in that locality.
The lack of sales has been going on for almost three years, according to what was declared by the member of the Union of Footwear Producers of Cochabamba -David Jiménez-, with no possibility of rebounding, despite the return to classes in person, explained the leader.
