According to information diffused by the Brazilian Association of Footwear Industries (ABICALÇADOS), Bolivia placed third in the ranking of destination countries of Brazilian footwear - supassing France -, based on figures from the Secretary of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economy, Industry, Foreign Trade and Services of Brazil.
In this regard, in the period between January and May 2019, the Bolivian market imported 2.6 million pairs of shoes worth US$ 21.9 million. This translates into a 0.1% decrease in volume and an 8.1% increase in business. The average value per pair was US$ 8.15, 8.2% more than the same five months of 2018.
Throughout 2018, Bolivia imported a total of 5.6 million pairs for US$ 43.3 million, which placed it in the fifth destination of Brazilian placements.
