Government measure protects footwear industry
In mid-August, Supreme Decree 1040 endorsed a regulation approved by the Ministry of Productive Development and Plural Economy, which promotes local industry and advocates for greater inspection of imports in the textile, footwear and furniture sectors.
The new applications include certification through affidavits, presentation of technical regulations of importers; that the articles are new and original; the debt-free to the National Customs, and the National Tax Service and Pension Fund Administrators.
Currently, some of these imported products enter with values that are difficult to compete and of lower quality, reported.
