The Brazilian footwear industry is expected to be driven by domestic consumption throughout this year, according to ABICALÇADOS projections. Consequently, the organization predicts retail sales of 754 to 757 million pairs, representing an increase of over 3% compared to the previous year.
Production, on the other hand, is expected to increase by 1.7% in the best-case scenario, totaling 863.1 million pairs. In the worst-case scenario, the growth would be 1%, with only 857.1 million pairs manufactured, as detailed by Priscila Linck, the coordinator of Market Intelligence at the organization.
However, a negative variation in exports for the year is expected, ranging from 6.7% to 9.1% compared to the previous year, as reported by ABICALÇADOS.
