Employment growth in the leather and tanning sector in 2024


In 2024, Brazilian tanneries employed over 30,000 people across facilities nationwide.

The employment balance in the tanning industry and other leather processing activities reached 30,977 jobs in 2024, marking a 1.7% increase compared to the 30,453 positions recorded in 2023, according to MTP-Novo CAGED data, compiled and published by CICB.

By region, Rio Grande do Sul registered 7,967 jobs, followed by São Paulo with 6,158, and Paraná with 3,062 active workers in the sector.
