Exports from suppliers decreased
In the first two months of 2023, business transactions amounting to US$ 58.2 million were made for the export of components, representing a 13% decline compared to the same two-month period in 2022.
China was the top destination in the ranking, although it showed an 84% decline compared to January-February 2022. Similarly, exports to Argentina fell by 102% and those to Portugal by 154%.
Additionally, the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Manufactured Goods (ASSINTECAL) reported that in 2022, exports reached the figure of US$ 421.2 million. This result represented a 12% growth compared to 2021, while the increase was 18% when compared to the pre-pandemic figures of 2019.
