First seven months of the footwear industry

Between January and July 2019, footwear production increased by 3.2%, compared to the same period of 2018. On the other hand, retail sales increased by 0.4%, according to figures provided by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).

Employment in July had a decrease of 3.5%, with an industry that brings together 276,994 workers, as revealed by the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE) and reported ABICALÇADOS.
