Footwear imports in decline
In the first five months of 2021, 10.8 million pairs of footwear entered Brazil, which represented a decrease of 7.1% in relation to the same months of 2020. For its part, the value of imports was US $ 136 million, a contraction of 1.7%, according to figures provided by SECEX.
ABICALÇADOS reported that in May there was an increase of more than 70% in imports from China, Indonesia and Vietnam. These markets have an 83% share of the total footwear entered in that month.
