Leather sector grows in employment, with fluctuations
CICB reported that employment in the leather industry increased by 3.5% in the first seven months of the year compared to 2022. In total, the sector has 30,584 workers, compared to 29,549 in the previous year.
Breaking it down, 335 jobs were created in January, followed by 76 in February. In March, April, and May, 242, 269, and 205 jobs were added, respectively, while June saw a loss of 94 jobs. In July, only 2 new jobs were registered, according to data provided by MTP-NOVO CAGED and compiled by CICB.
