More shoes to the United States, due to dispute with China
The trade conflict between the United States and China would generate greater purchases of Brazilian footwear, as US merchants seek alternative markets to Asian, as described by Haroldo Ferreira, CEO of ABICALÇADOS.
In this sense, between January and September, footwear exported to the United States reached 8.9 million pairs, with an increase of 38.4% compared to the same months of 2018. The commercialization was US $ 150.2 million, registering an increase of 38.1%.
In September alone, the volume grew 122% (992.8 thousand pairs), while the value increased by 68% (US $ 14.2 million), ABICALÇADOS reported.
