Outlook for the footwear sector

The Brazilian industry expects growth due to domestic consumption, and exports will continue to decline.

Haroldo Ferreira -executive president of the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (ABICALÇADOS)-, referred to the projections for the industry in 2024, within the framework of the press conference held in São Paulo/SP, at the last edition of the BFSHOW fair.

In this regard, the leader stated: “In 2024, production should grow between 0.9% and 2.2%, driven, once again, by the domestic market,” which would translate into better results compared to 2023, when production fell by 2.3%. For this year, domestic consumption is expected to grow between 2.4% and 3.8%, and a drop in foreign sales in the range of 5% and 9.7%, according to ABICALÇADOS.
