In the first quarter of 2023, a total of 38.4 million pairs of footwear were exported, valued at US$ 328.4 million. Compared to the same months of the previous year, the volume experienced a 5.7% decrease, while the value grew by 2.4%, according to SECEX figures.
Among the behavior of the destination countries, the contractions in both variables by the United States stand out. On the other hand, the novelty is the positioning of Spain in the 3rd place of the ranking, with significant increases.
Additionally, throughout 2022, 141.9 million pairs of footwear were exported, with a value exceeding US$ 1.3 billion. Both figures represented positive variations of 14.8% and 45.5%, respectively, compared to 2021, as reported by ABICALÇADOS.
