Materials and components for footwear exported in the first ten months of 2022 reached a total of US$ 351 million, with a positive variation of 14% in relation to the same period of the previous year, according to ASSINTECAL (Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Manufactured Goods).
However, the month of October showed a 111% drop in foreign sales, compared to the same period in 2021, for a value of US$ 19 million. "In the last quarter of 2021 we had extraordinary results, given a production peak and also a more intense international demand due to the high costs of Chinese freight," said Luiz Ribas Júnior -International Market Manager of the entity-, adding that the decrease was "expected".
Argentina was positioned as the largest destination, with an increase of 37% (US$ 76 million); followed by China, with a fall of 14% (US$ 65.7 million); Portugal grew 36% (US$ 44.3 million); and the United States had a recovery of 56% (US$ 9 million).
