Brazilian imports decreased by over 30%


In the footwear offering of the local commercial circuit, there is a noticeable decrease in the volume of Brazilian products.

Brazilian footwear entering the Chilean market recorded a volume of 2.4 million pairs in the accumulated period of 2023, reaching US$ 33.5 million in sales, according to information provided by ABICALÇADOS.

These figures represent a contraction of 32.2% in volume and 32.4% in value compared to 2022, according to data provided by SECEX. Similarly, the average value per pair also experienced a slight slowdown of 0.3%, reaching US$ 13.56.

Regarding imports of hides and skins, the total surface area amounted to 405,863 square meters, with business transactions totaling US$ 3.2 million, according to data revealed by SECEX. This performance resulted in a decrease of 29.8% in volume and 37.1% in value respectively, as elaborated and published by CICB.
