Decline in online footwear sales
The National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (CNC) provided insights into the performance of online retail sales.
Specifically for the FOOTWEAR sector, the entity announced an 8.1% decline in the first quarter of 2023, followed by a 9.2% drop in the second quarter of the year. Furthermore, in the third quarter, the industry experienced an annual deceleration of 18.6%.
The Online Retail Sales Report also revealed that the penetration of CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR in total virtual transactions reached 12.1%, 16.9%, and 13.8% in the respective quarters, according to what was prepared by the CNC's Department of Studies.
