The Department of Studies of the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (CNC) released the report corresponding to the Retail Import Index, a joint work with the consulting company Quant Research.
For the footwear sector, and in relation to the Volume Index, in the first quarter of 2020 there was a negative variation of 14.1%, followed by -52.6% in the second quarter and -41.3% between July and September. For its part, the Unit Value Index reflected a fall of 3.1% in the first three months of the year, a growth of 6.2% in the second quarter and 3.8% in the third, according to data provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the National Customs Service.
Regarding concentration by origin, footwear from China accounted for 67.3% of the total, followed by 14.2% from Vietnam, 5.9% from Brazil and 3.2% from Indonesia, referring to the third quarter of the year, as reported from the entity.
