Increased quantity of footwear and leather imported from Brazil
The entry of Brazilian footwear, in the first eleven months of 2021, was 2.7 million pairs and businesses reached US $ 29.6 million. This represented increases of 53.8% and 47.5% respectively, in relation to the same period of the previous year. In addition, according to data from SECEX, the average value was US $ 10.96 per pair, a fall of 4.1%, reported ABICALÇADOS.
Chile also imported hides and skins from Brazil. During the same months, it bought 560,399 square meters, an increase of 116.4%. As for the value, the increase was 159.2%, totaling US $ 4.8 million, according to what was released by CICB, based on SECEX figures.
