Retraction on imports
The Retail Import Volume Index closed the third quarter of the year with a retraction of 7.3%, while the Unit Value Index was 4.1% lower compared to the same quarter of 2018, according to figures provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the National Customs Service.
Specifically, the FOOTWEAR sector decreased by 4.3% in terms of volume, and 7.3% on the value. The main suppliers were China, with a 58% stake; Vietnam, 19%; and Brazil represented 6.2%, determined by Quant Research and the Department of Studies of the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (CNC) based on data from the CEPAL Office of Economic Affairs.
