Dispute with CROCS resolved in favor of EVACOL
After eight years of legal proceedings, the Superior Court of the Judicial District of Bogotá D.C. ruled in favor of EVACOL S.A.S in its appeal and dismissed the previous judgment.
Chronologically, in 2017, CROCS filed an Action for Infringement of Industrial Property Rights against the Colombian company, which the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce upheld in 2019.
As a consequence, EVACOL removed the three-dimensional model from stores, ceased its commercialization, and destroyed a volume exceeding 50,000 pairs, valued at over 500 million Colombian pesos (more than US$ 130,000). Additionally, deals were around 50 billion Colombian pesos (over US$ 13 million), as declared by the firm's manager, Antonio Wang.
