Good performance of footwear exports
Colombian footwear sold abroad showed a positive performance between January and November 2023, with a volume of 2.6 million pairs. Compared to the 2.5 million pairs exported in the previous year, this represented a positive variation of 0.7%. In terms of value, the US$ 35.4 million in international business also exceeded the US$ 34.7 million from 2022, by 1.8%.
Ecuador emerged as the main destination for exported footwear, with a 25% share and sales of US$ 8.8 million. It was followed by the United States, with a 24% share and a value of US$ 8.4 million; while Costa Rica represented 9% and US$ 3.4 million, according to figures from DIAN and DANE, elaborated and disseminated by ACICAM.
