Mayor of Cúcuta to promote footwear industry
Following last year's regional elections, Jorge Acevedo Peñaloza assumed the role of mayor of Cúcuta. Among the proposals and projects he aims to pursue during his tenure, the footwear sector is part of his agenda.
In this regard, the official detailed his desire to build a megafactory that will allow companies, which are usually small or family businesses, to manufacture 5,000 to 7,000 pairs of footwear daily. With this capacity, they will avoid rejecting larger volume orders when they participate in business rounds, as is happening at the moment, the leader stressed.
Furthermore, Acevedo Peñaloza advocates for the training of human resources from an early age, coupled with the incorporation of advanced technology.
