The president of the National Federation of Merchants (FENALCO) -Jaime Alberto Cabal-, sent a letter to José Manuel Restrepo, Minister of Finance; and María Ximena Lombana, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Colombia.
In the letter, it is requested that raw materials not pay import tariffs, while finished products have a 5% discount over a year. This, as a palliative for the difficulties in supply from China, maritime transport and containers. On this last issue, the entity's Economic Department reported that the delivery time was increased, the routes were limited and the value amounted to more than US$12,000, compared to the previous US$3,000.
The claims tend to contain the rise in product values, which would impact the final consumer, reported FENALCO.
