Negative indices in the leather and footwear industry
The Monthly Manufacturing Survey with a Territorial Approach showed negative variations in almost all statistics related to the footwear, leather and leather goods industry in the cumulative period up to July 2023.
In this regard, both real production and employment, as well as sales of FOOTWEAR and HIDES AND SKINS, experienced contractions. The only positive figure corresponded to employment in the leather goods sector, according to information provided by the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE).
