Innovation and Productive Development Center is created

For greater competitiveness, Ecuadorian footwear adds a new field for knowledge and innovation.

At the end of last October, the inauguration of this place was announced, which is located in Ambato and has areas for events, laboratories, auditorium, technical assistance, etc. in an area of 3,300 square meters. The center will seek to promote competitiveness in the processes of the textile, footwear, leather and tourism sectors, both locally and internationally.

The strategic guidelines include progress in line with the market and applied research; technology transfer and innovation; progress in the productivity of companies and promotion of the culture of entrepreneurship.

This initiative is the result of the demands of the aforementioned sectors, which took six years to materialize, as stated by the president of the Footwear Chamber (CALTU) -Lilia Villavicencio- and reported La Hora.
