French group adds Spanish tannery

The high-quality craftsmanship in the tanning and finishing of exotic leathers by VERDEVELENO has led to its acquisition by the French fashion leader.

LVMH, the owner of brands such as LOUIS VUITTON, LOEWE, FENDI, CELINE, DIOR, GIVENCHY, KENZO, and MARC JACOBS, among others, has added the VERDEVELENO Group to its portfolio. VERDEVELENO is a company based in Valencia that stands out for the tanning and finishing of exotic leathers. The tannery is recognized for its commitment to sustainability and traceability, as well as for incorporating the knowledge of artisanal ceramics from Castellón, Valencia, and Alicante into the manufacturing of its products.

The artisanal aspect is what the French LVMH Group aims to preserve, not only to safeguard the processes but also to innovate through them, as reported.

"Our approach is to allow the founders to continue managing their companies while we contribute to operational, commercial, human resources, and research and business development aspects", concluded Matteo De Rosa, CEO of LVMH Métiers d’Art.
