First half imports decreased in value
The entry of footwear in the first six months of 2019 had a value of € 4.9 billion, this is a decrease of 4.1% compared to the first half of 2018. The price per pair also fell by 6%, which was € 12.53. However, the number of imported pairs grew by 2%, with a volume of 391.3 million.
China was the largest shoe supplier, with a 50.5% share of the total; Vietnam accounted for 15%, and Indonesia 4.8%, as reported from HDS/L based on data provided by the Federal Statistics Office.
