In 2020, footwear exports fell
During 2020, foreign sales of German footwear totaled 293.9 million pairs, while the value was € 6.8 billion. In this sense, and compared to the previous year, there were negative variations of 14.4% and 10.8% respectively, according to figures from the Federal Statistical Office.
The main destination countries, in relation to the volume exported, were Poland, with a share of 18.9% of the total, followed by France, with 12.4%; and the Netherlands with 7.2%, as reported from the Federal Association of the German Footwear and Leather Goods Industry (HDS/L).
